According to a GamesMaster interview with Project Sora head Masahiro Sakurai (excerpted by ONM) 3DS flagship title Kid Icarus: Uprising might feature Kids Icarus, plural. “The online capabilities are currently being tested,” Sakurai said. “There could be some versus play but we can’t go into any detail. There are a lot of capabilities that expand on what was in the DS that people are taking advantage of. “

If anyone’s going to make a 3DS online game happen, it’s Sakurai, one of the few Nintendo developers to make an online game (Super Smash Bros. Brawl). But how would a versus mode work in an on-rails shooter — score competitions?

Where is My Heart?

Even though he’s making a thoughtful, retro-inspired PSP game, Bernie Schulenburg still understands how to sell. He knows that you, the consumer, don’t have a lot of time to waste on purchasing decisions, so he’s released not a trailer, but a mini-trailer for his upcoming Where is My Heart? that you can find below the break.

Well, technically, he’s made four, which we guess kind of kills the whole time-saving thing. But at least it taps into another crucial consumer value: Getting four of things.

According to Event Hubs, Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono recently dropped a fairly sizable bomb on attendees of the company’s “Street Fighter Mania! : SSFIV and Beyond” panel at Comic-Con: Street Fighter X Tekken. The oft-rumored project will be developed by Capcom using the Street Fighter IV engine (only with two-fighter tag team battles), and will feature a number of fighters from Namco’s similarly successful fighting franchise, including Kazuya and Nina Williams.

But that’s not all! Ono also revealed that Namco Bandai would be developing Tekken X Street Fighter, which will be developed in-house at Tekken, and spearheaded by long-time franchise producer Katsuhiro Harada. Both titles will be released for 360 and PS3, though according to a cheeky slide at the end of the presentation, the current release window is “not for a while!” Update: Now with video!

Scott Pilgrim vs.

While it’s unlikely Scott Pilgrim vs. the World will be sold out when it launches on the PlayStation Store’s virtual shelves next month, you may still want to pre-order the game. Ubisoft’s official online store is throwing in a special bonus: a free “Sex Bob-omb” t-shirt for your PlayStation Home avatar.

Okay, this may not be the most exciting pre-order bonus ever concocted, but there’s still good reason to be excited. The Ubishop has Scott Pilgrim listed at $9.99, bucking the recent trend of $15 downloads. We definitely approve.

Irrational Games invitation

We don’t know much about “Project Icarus,” the still-codenamed and much-anticipated new game from Irrational Games, the Boston-based dev behind BioShock. While BioShock 2 has come and gone out of spinoff 2K Marin, and we’ve already gotten our hands on 2K Marin’s followup, XCOM, we still don’t have a shred of information on what Irrational’s been working on over the last three years.

That’s all likely to change on August 11th when Ken Levine and company are holding an event in New York City. We received the above invitation today and, while it’s short on details, it promises that “details and formal email invitations” will be arriving shortly. Until then, peruse the above image for any hidden secrets it might hold. New York City, is that a clue? August 11th? That’s the 223rd day of the year but what does it mean? It’s Hulk Hogan’s birthday … are you seeing what we’re seeing? It all makes sense now!

Grab your golems, pick up your Paladins and drag out your Druids, because Diablo 2 is now officially ten years old. Originally released on June 29, 2000 the game is still being played today on Blizzard’s Battle.net. What’s more, Blizzard is still updating Diablo 2, with the most recent patch having been launched in March.

Let’s just hope it’s not another ten years before Diablo 3 shows up.

He’s kind of like Kevin Butler, but he’s a lot younger and he’s all about the PSP. His name is Marcus, Marcus ‘PSP’ Rivers (we’re not confident that’s his Christian name) and he’s the face of a new ad campaign that Sony’s running to promote the PSP and PSP Go: “Step Your Game Up. ” We saw a glimpse of the little scamp during Sony’s E3 presser, but apparently Marcus will be branching off on his own in the coming months.

A PlayStation blog post details the campaign and points out Marcus’ YouTube channel which is full of clips from pieces currently running “on over 19 networks. ” We’ve embedded a couple of our favorites after the break, so head on past to make with the yucks.
